Infusion Care Without the Road Trip

Image

The Challenge

Dave lives in a rural area of the Pacific Northwest and was diagnosed with gout. His care team prescribed Krystexxa, an infusion therapy administered every two weeks.

Dave’s only treatment option required driving more than four hours round trip to a hospital system every other week. The travel time and disruption quickly became unsustainable, both personally and financially, making it difficult to stay on track with treatment.

The Leap Solution

Seeking a more accessible option, Dave was referred to Leap through a large employer TPA.

A Leap Care Guide partnered with Dave, his prescribing physician, and the employer TPA to coordinate in-home infusion care. Within one week:
• Dave’s first Krystexxa infusion was scheduled and delivered at home
• A licensed infusion nurse was assigned
• Ongoing infusions were scheduled every two weeks to support adherence

Patient Impact

By eliminating the need to travel, Leap made it easier for Dave to stay consistent with treatment while minimizing disruption to his daily life and family time.

“I was able to watch the Mariners game with my son while getting my infusion, instead of missing the whole game driving to and from it.”
— Dave, Leap Health patient

Employer Impact

By avoiding hospital-based infusion care and supporting treatment adherence through home infusion, Leap Health helped Dave’s employer realize $711,000 in claims-validated annual savings.

Personalized care that works for members and employers.
